Senior Business Analyst – Auckland or Hamilton

ANZ Talent Hub is supporting a well-established organisation within the utilities sector on a critical contract engagement. We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to step in on an initial 3–6 month contract, with an immediate start required.

This role will suit someone who understands the operational and regulatory realities of the utilities landscape and can contribute from day one. You’ll be partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders, taking ownership of analysis, documentation, and delivery support across key initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day

• Engaging with business and technical stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document requirements
• Facilitating workshops and driving clarity across cross-functional teams
• Translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications
• Supporting transformation, system enhancement, or regulatory-driven change initiatives
• Mapping and optimising business processes within a utilities environment
• Working closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions align with agreed requirements
• Operating autonomously, prioritising effectively, and maintaining delivery momentum

What You’ll Bring

This role suits someone confident, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in complex environments:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the utilities sector (generation, distribution, retail, metering, billing, or regulatory change)
• Strong experience delivering requirements across system implementations or platform enhancements
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences
• A track record of delivering in fast-paced contract environments
• Strong analytical thinking and documentation capability
• A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to add value quickly
