BI & Reporting Consultant – Auckland

We’re hiring a Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant to help a government agency transform raw data into actionable insights. You’ll work closely with senior decision-makers to build dashboards and analytical models that improve public services.

About the Role:

You’ll help modernise reporting frameworks, develop data pipelines, and visualise insights using tools like Power BI and SQL Server. Your work will directly support data-driven decision-making at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and publish reports using Power BI and DAX
• Build and maintain ETL processes to prepare data for analysis
• Optimise SQL queries and data models for performance
• Work with business stakeholders to identify KPIs and reporting goals
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with government data standards
• Collaborate with security and governance teams on data access

Requirements:

• 5+ years in business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting roles
• Strong experience in Power BI, SQL, DAX, and data warehouse tools
• Experience working with sensitive or regulated data sets
• Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
