ANZ Talent Hub is supporting a respected technology consultancy delivering high-quality software across multiple client platforms. We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to step in on an initial 3-month contract, with a very real pathway to extension.
You’ll be working across a mix of modern greenfield builds and legacy uplift projects, partnering closely with clients and taking ownership of what you deliver.
What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day
- Designing and delivering robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Contributing to modern frontend applications as part of a full-stack delivery model
- Improving and uplifting existing systems while also building new applications from scratch
- Working within microservices environments that are live in production
- Leveraging CI/CD pipelines to ship reliable, scalable software
- Engaging directly with clients around requirements, priorities, bug fixes, and delivery timelines
- Moving at pace, making pragmatic decisions, and delivering quality without hand-holding
What You’ll Bring
This role suits someone who is confident, hands-on, and comfortable operating with autonomy:
- 5+ years of commercial experience working with Java, with strong Spring Boot expertise
- Exposure to full-stack development, including modern frontend technologies
- A proven track record delivering software end to end — from design through to deployment
- Experience working with microservices architectures in real-world environments
- Confidence working directly with non-technical stakeholders and clients
- Strong academic foundations and a genuine passion for well-crafted software
- A collaborative mindset — you enjoy working with others and lifting the team around you
