We're seeking a driven Senior Sales & Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth in the Auckland tech and business services landscape. The Role:
As our Senior Sales & Business Development Manager, you'll be the driving force behind our revenue growth, leveraging your deep understanding of the tech and business services ecosystem. While we have established relationships with a few key clients, this role requires a strategic hunter mentality and the ability to significantly expand our client portfolio within the Auckland region. You'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing compelling solution-based proposals, and closing deals across our suite of tech, recruitment, and BPO offerings. This role is primarily work-from-home, with regular travel to client sites within the Auckland region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Portfolio Expansion: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to significantly grow our client base within the Auckland region, building upon existing key client relationships.
- Solution Selling & Technical/Business Understanding: Understand complex technical and business requirements and effectively articulate the value proposition of our services (e.g., cloud migrations, DevOps implementations, AI-driven recruitment, off-shore support, BPO solutions, custom ERP/CRM/LMS systems, and integrated solutions leveraging partnerships with Salesforce and ServiceNow).
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales playbooks tailored to the Auckland tech and business services market.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (CTOs, CIOs, Engineering Managers, Operations Managers), including regular on-site visits.
- RFP/Proposal Development: Lead the development of compelling, technically and commercially sound proposals and responses to RFPs.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of emerging tech trends, competitive landscapes, and industry best practices, including BPO trends.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and performance reports.
- Primary Focus on BD/Sales: While your primary focus will be on business development and sales, in a startup environment, you may occasionally be asked to contribute to related tasks as needed.
- Client Site Travel: Regularly travel to client sites within the Auckland region for technical and business discussions and presentations. Occasional travel outside Auckland, including potential international travel to Australia and the UK, may also be required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be based in Auckland, New Zealand.
- Must have valid rights to work in New Zealand.
- Proven track record of success in senior tech, business services sales and business development roles, ideally within a consultancy or vendor environment.
- Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise IT infrastructure, and BPO service delivery.
- Experience selling complex technical solutions, professional services, and BPO solutions.
- Exceptional business development, solution selling, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport with technical, business, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience selling to C-suite level executives.
- Strong understanding of the Auckland tech and business services ecosystem and key players.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Experience in responding to complex RFPs and developing technical and commercial proposals.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for driving innovation in the tech and business services sector.
- Ability to work effectively from home and travel to client sites as required.
